Senior Housing Data Platform Expansion

For NIC MAP Vision

Overview & Objectives

Following the successful redesign, NIC MAP Vision was positioned to address new markets.

Over the following 3 years, there would be major additions and improvements to every part of the platform. Three new products, specifically, were designed to significantly expand addressable market:

My Role

Approach & Implementation

In this phase, we had the advantage of design system established during the redesign, as well as feedback relationships with trusted customers. For new products, we would:

We released several new products and countless additional features. Of those, AI Skills, the Real Estate Marketplace, and Industry Insight were our most ambitious.

AI Skills

With the release of GPT-3 and the subsequent waves of optimism and enthusiasm, every enterprise platform was trying to integrate AI. NMV was a first mover in the senior housing space, releasing a suite of tools focused on deal analysis, operational tasks, and labor management.

The initial AI Skills UI was a "chat bot", leveraging the familiarity of and buzz surrounding the ChatGPT product. Users were guided through multi-step, branching workflows, completing complex, high-value tasks that otherwise would take hours or days.

We built a sophisticated backend that could chain multiple LLMs together with our comprehensive senior-housing data. Engineers used a purpose-designed Skill Builder to quickly spin up new skills for test and release.

Real Estate Marketplace

A major subset of our customers relied on in-platform data to assess external real-estate deals. To simplify their workflow, we added real-estate listings and deal facilitation to the platform. Full deal execution and other features are being explored.

Industry Insight

Industry Insight provides vendors with a full market view and actionable contact info, allowing them to identify opportunities and contacts to sell into senior housing communities.

Next Steps

All three products were released in early 2024.
